Can Trump Survive the Media Firing Squad?
The evidence is that much of their unsupported claims continue to be accepted as true by women, minorities and those that misunderstand gaslighting.
Since he humiliated 16 other Republican Presidential Candidates in the first 2016 election debate, I have been a major Trump supporter. There has never been a candidate for President, in my voting lifetime, that made so many seemingly impossible promises, and then once elected, kept nearly all of them.
There has never been a President, in my lifetime, that spent so much of his term fighting a relentless political and legal assault on his administration, family and friends, policies and procedures, and his personal identity. Many previous administrations were attacked politically, and to some degree, personally. Obviously Lincoln and Kennedy were assassinated, but they never faced such an unabashed alliance of hateful media channels working night and day to paint the duly elected President as a white supremacist authoritarian fascist.
Lincoln, Kennedy and Reagan all had serious enemies. Like Trump, they were all America Firsters. They all held strong Christian values, and believed that government was best when it was small and focused on fundamental roles to keep the peace, to secure the borders, to promote fair trade, commerce and criminal justice. To work for the people, not the other way around. For some reasons I cannot fathom, those values engender intense hatred.
For holding those values, Lincoln and Kennedy were murdered, and Reagan and Trump narrowly survived assassination.
Trump never did anything to confirm the charges that he was a racist, a sexual predator, or Hitlerian dictator. He just worked relentlessly to keep his campaign promises. He fell short on overturning ObamaCare and building a “Big Beautiful Wall!”
Had he won a mandate in the 2020 election, as I believe he actually did, I think there would have been many more major political successes. What has shaped his public persona is the overwhelming media assassination of his achievements and character.
Overall, his record of economic expansion, international trade, and environmental progress (his carbon footprint reductions exceeded those required by the Paris Accords to which he never agreed) are all unmatched in American history. I am one of the 70 million “right-wing” extremists, as the Democrats like to describe us, who believe the 2020 election was a counterfeit imposter. I will never be convinced it was “the most secure election” in our lifetime, as Christopher Krebs, the head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency claimed. It is counter intuitive to trust government agencies to investigate government agencies.
The evidence gathered by dozens of independent investigative journalists continues to pile up that the election was, at worst, a cyber hijacking, and at best, a series of pseudo-legal, mostly questionable workarounds to marginally legitimate voting procedures. All of which were born of the overreaction to the Covid19 ‘pandemic’.
If only a small percentage of the illegitimate voting actually took place in 2016, it would imply that there exists similar voting irregularities, or outright cheating, in many of our nations past elections. And that implies we have huge numbers of counterfeit leaders embedded in our government.
But beyond that issue, Trump is hated by millions of people for reasons that even they can’t explain.
They parrot terms that pepper the news. “He’s a woman hater!” Despite the fact that both of his wives adore him, as do his daughter, daughter-in-laws, and millions of supporting women across America. The man has been in the public eye for seven decades and there is not one piece of recorded evidence of him verbally or physically abusing any woman. What his accusers point to is innuendo, he/she said, unwitnessed accusations and misleading, sometimes edited news reports. Zip, zero, nada.
“He is a racist!” But there is no real evidence of that, other than his pronouncements describing some of the illegal immigrants flooding across our borders as “ Dangerous criminals, drug dealers and bad guys. They are not sending their best”.
All of which is, at least in many cases, true.
He’s a dictator!” Ignoring his four year term in the White House where he exhibited no symptoms of ignoring the rule of law, trampling citizens rights, or weaponizing the IRS, DOJ or Secret Service, all of which Biden has done.
Regardless of the fact that Trump widened his appeal, drew more minority votes than any Republican in history, and was racking up historical economic numbers, too many people in America were OK with Joe Biden moving into the White House. Too many people on both sides of the aisle were unwilling to confront any serious doubts about the authenticity of the Biden victory. And that was notwithstanding the obvious: Joe Biden had never accomplished anything significant in his life. He is a career politician, with no business experience, a pock-marked record of misrepresentations, plagiarism, racial insensitivities, and outright lies.
Now the atmosphere in America is so thick with animosity, with irrational anger and resentment toward anything "Trump". I think the whole world is psychologically exhausted after three years of Pandemic Fever relentlessly promoted by a worldwide cabal of collectivist quasi-government agencies. I believe Trump's successes are now a blur in the rear-view mirror. We have had no trials and no one has been held accountable for any of the voting anomalies that occurred in the battleground states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Arizona. I believe his opponents will continue to claim he is a "threat to our Democracy" because he "falsely claimed the election was stolen" hoping if they say it enough, it will become accepted as truth.
The evidence is that much of their unsupported claims continue to be accepted as true by women, minorities and those that misunderstand how media gaslighting can manipulate the thinking and values of millions of people.
