Falsified
Let's put truth aside because it is the most controversial
Originally published in 2021 as a chapter in my book “f’d. For Your Own Good.”
It seems nothing has enduring meaning. Everything is subject to change. It is impossible to define history or the present using language and terms that for years had an established meaning and are now fluid. Imagine having a name that changes every day. That is the ultimate identity theft. But that is exactly what is happening to virtually everything. Words used to mean things. Not any more.
If we were talking about entering evidence into the court record, and the material was an amalgamation of subjective redefinitions, any Judge would exclude it. In court, words have meanings that fall into legal categories. Nebulous or contradictory language is never allowed to be used because it does not contribute to the pursuit of the truth. Any alterations to language detected in depositions or affidavits are considered “falsification” and can be prosecuted as such.
Let’s put “Truth” aside for the moment, because of all things it is the most controversial. Scientists can’t agree on a definition of words like “life”. They are more than willing to stretch the normal, earthbound theory, as they search for that elusive new “life form” in space. They are desperate because until they find it those crazy right-wing religious zealots will continue to claim God created Heaven, Earth, and Man. Those creationists will keep getting in the way of total acceptance of evolution, which would secure science as the sole purveyors of truth and meaning. Evolutionists agree that when such a turning point in history arrives, maybe we can find Peace On Earth.
Remember when academics, philosophers and old men were respected for their wisdom?
For decades we shared their sage advice to guide our civilization, to inspire our work and to help us assimilate. Somewhere along the way we became so enamored with our own intellect, our intuition and our compassion, we lowered the value of their experience. We decided that age undermined authenticity or accuracy. That since time never stops, society has decided that everything must have an expiration date.
So much of the accumulated knowledge of history was, for lack of a better term, outdated, and for all practical purposes, falsified.
For thousands of years humans have erased history to institutionalize power. Pharaohs, kings, dictators and slave owners all rewrote or simply demolished any remnants of their predecessors. Keeping people in the present serves their needs for control. Nostalgia is a powerful emotion. It will tend to undermine authority because it romanticizes the past. So authoritarians rewrite history, or demonize their opponents to create fear of returning to that romantic period. “Let’s only think about the future!” The one we are creating in your mind. The illusionary utopia that you can have, as long as you accept our definition of it.
The late San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, commenting on the Jonestown Massacre, where a demented cult leader convinced 900 followers to drink cyanide laced Kool Aid:
“Guyana was a great experiment that didn’t work. I don’t know, maybe it did.”
Maybe it did? Maybe the experiment of pretending to live in harmony with Mother Earth, in service to your “Esteemed Leader” and with no responsibility at all to actually work, produce, protect your children, or to be honest, actually “worked”? It led 900 people to eternity in a peaceful and non confrontational way. They held hands and sang Kumbaya as their hearts stopped. That would put a new spin on success...
The Peoples Temple took lonely, dispirited and disenfranchised hippies and idealists, subjected them to a long period of indoctrination, isolation and abuse, and then offered “freedom” in the form of death.
“To me death is not a fearful thing. It’s living that’s cursed.” -- Jim Jones
So we have established that Truth, Life, and Freedom no longer have any sort of perpetual meaning. They have been “relativised”. As has almost every accepted social norm. We can’t say “gentleman” anymore, let alone define what it is to act like one. We used to think of “compassion” as having empathy for others who are less fortunate. But that is far from what it is understood to mean in our modern Progressive culture.
The Dalai Lama in his book The Art of Happiness said:
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
Compassion is no longer considered an emotion, or an internalization of concern, sympathy or understanding. Today it must be an action, too. It doesn’t exist unless it has real world consequences, and it cannot be recognized unless it is accompanied by some sort of contribution or involvement. It is no longer a noun, it has become a verb.
“Compassion takes empathy and sympathy a step further. When you are compassionate, you feel the pain of another (i.e., empathy) or you recognize that the person is in pain (i.e., sympathy), and then you do your best to alleviate the person’s suffering from that situation.” -- Sara Schairer
You no longer express compassion, you treat people with it. You play God.
My point is our perspective has changed. Whether we like it or not, our perspectives have been altered because the words used to describe them no longer mean the same things they did just a few years ago.
By any measure, Americans are living a falsified reality.
We are acting in conflict with reality. We are acting like a paranoid schizophrenic who is operating with distorted impressions and outside of what most people consider reality.
One year into a massive social disease (defined as “any condition that impairs normal functioning in any living thing; manifested by “distinguishing symptoms”) that was promoted by a cabal of government bureaucrats, world health agencies (dominated by authoritarian government agencies), Progressive media outlets, and scientific academics that depend on their power and funding derived from public funds, and what are we doing?
Our entire American civilization (defined as architecture, culture, government, and social infrastructure) is being systematically dismantled. We have redefined “borders”. What we have is no longer any form of security. Our borders have been falsified.
Our ability to govern ourselves has been derailed. Our constitutional form of governing has been falsified. In California, people were told to “wear a mask at all times, even in your own homes. Stay home unless you have to perform some vital function.” There is no constitutional authority for state governments to mandate what people wear on their faces, or when they can leave their homes. But it happened. The California government falsified their authority.
Our nation is under assault.
November 3rd, 2020 was an attack on our sovereignty and our freedom. Our election was corrupted. By China? Iran? Russia? Maybe all three, but does it really matter if we do nothing about it?
If you get mugged and hit over the head and have no memory of the incident, does that mean the crime never occurred? As a victim, you may be excused for not pursuing the bad guys, but those that we entrust with protecting our society, our dignity, have an obligation to determine what actually happened. All Americans deserve to know, no matter how uncomfortable it makes us.
Our economy is suffering since the COVID19 “Pandemic” swept across the planet. Making things worse exponentially, our new administration is spending tax funds that will never be collected. If the head of the family collects credit cards and runs them up to their limit while acquiring absolutely nothing in return, how long do you think it will take until the day of reckoning? It may be fun for the kids to go on vacation and party hardy, but guess what happens when you don’t pay the bill? They foreclose on your home.
The administration is telling us that the spending spree is going to “Save the Nation”. That is a false claim, obviously, because spending money you don’t actually have cannot buy us security, stability or racial justice. Printing more money simply dilutes the existing money supply. That means your purchasing power goes down and your earnings are worth less. That scenario serves our enemies well, while undermining our citizens’ economic future.
America has lost the ability to detect the sexual orientation of newborn children. CNN news writer Devin Cole stated in his column:
“There is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.”
Is this just a cheap attempt to grab attention, or is it a very revealing essay on the diseased minds of many “journalists” in America? He is essentially redefining the word “Sex” and has falsified the clinical process for producing birth certificates.
I could go on...food content labels and drug side effects are often falsified. Sports records are no longer reliable because all of the rules for defining “Records” have been rewritten. When you apply New Normal standards to anything, everything that came before becomes obsolete or at least irrelevant. Historians will note the asterisk.
Literary icons have explored this phenomenon for decades. “What if” scenarios projecting the future absent any knowledge or reverence for the past. Lord of the Flies, 1984, The Hunger Games, Brave New World, The Last Man, One Second After, Delirium, Logan’s Run, and A Clockwork Orange are brilliant exposes on just how “Falsified” our current sense of reality has become.
